Moving away from file feeds to modern benefits administration

The problem: Wait times and a “ton of follow up”

“Before adding HR Connect, we were truly reliant on a file feed that took place on a weekly basis from ADP Workforce Now to the carrier,” said Susan Clayton, Human Resources Manager at CaduceusHealth. This reliance led to lengthy waits and additional work for HR. “We would have to wait 24 to 48 hours for the carrier to upload the file contents … which created a ton of follow-up on my part.”

“Enrollment is in real time. There’s no waiting for a file feed to come over from the carrier,” says Clayton.

When it comes to plan setup, CaduceusHealth can now take a hands-off approach while still ensuring the accuracy of plan data. “I no longer have to worry about the plan build in ADP because Unum handles that,” says Clayton. “I am not tech savvy, so to have someone else build this in the background, so all I have to do is confirm the information, is extremely exciting.”

Bottom line: It’s all about ease of use

After discovering Unum HR Connect, CaduceusHealth has no plans to go back. “With the ease of use and the amount of continued support that I received from the incredibly knowledgeable support team,” Clayton reports, “I can honestly say HR Connect is all that it’s claimed to be. I would love to see all carriers move to this type of [technology].”
