Unum Insights will replace the Claim & Leave InSight (CLI) platform in 2023, providing clients with enhanced search functionality, and upgraded user interface, simplified navigation, and improved performance. The goal of Insights is to be a truly self-service platform, allowing HR professionals and client users the ability to gather information quickly on employees who are out on leave or claim within their organization. Standard reports can be used to understand historical trends, to identify specific records that require periodic action (ex: future work scheduling), or to conduct audits.

Since 2015, Claim & Leave InSight (CLI) has been a valuable tool leveraged by many clients to view in-depth details on their employees’ leaves of absence, active claims, historical trends, and more. We wanted to build a new platform with the same critical information, but with an enhanced user interface and stronger performance.

• Beyond the increased speed and modernized user interface, data is streamlined and better organized within claim and leave records. You can also narrow down your search for an employee by applying filters.
• You will be able to open a related leave record in the same view as the STD or LTD claim record.
• Reports will be recreated in Tableau so that they are faster and easier to use.

We recommend that users use Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox for Unum Insights. We recommend against using Internet Safari or Internet Explorer.

First, log-in to your iServices account. On the iServices homepage, click the Claim & Leave InSight option under the Claims tab. It is important to note that you will not see a new drop-down option for Unum Insights. After clicking on Claim & Leave InSight, you will be directed to Unum Insights and should see your organization listed in a dark blue box above Employee Search.

You may need to switch over from Unum Insights to CLI, especially if you need to run a report that is not yet available on Insights. To move to CLI, click on your name in the top right-hand corner of Insights. From the drop-down menu, select CLI. This will open the CLI homepage in a new tab.

First, clear your browsing data. You can easily do this by holding down Ctrl-Shift-Delete on your keyboard while in the browser. For Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, this should open a new tab that leads you directly to the browsing data pop-up. Select “Clear now” for both “Cookies and other site data” as well as “Cached images and files.”

After clearing your browsing data, please close out of the entire browser, not just this tab. Re-open a new browser and check on your access. As a reminder, in the Claims drop-down you will only see “Claim & Leave InSights.” Click on this option and you should be routed to Unum Insights.

If you are still experiencing access issues please contact your Unum representative.

• If you see “No records found, please review your search criteria and try again”, this means that no records match your search criteria. Verify you have entered the information correctly and that there are no typos or erroneous digits.
• If you see “Your search failed, please try again or contact us for further assistance”, this indicates a connection issue. Ensure you are connected to a secure network & refresh your browser. If you continue to encounter the same error, clear your cache/cookies, close the browser, then reopen and try again.

To search for an employee, you must use one of the following criteria: Employee ID (EEID), First Name, Last Name, Claim Number, or Leave Number. After entering in the search information to the right of the Search By field and clicking search, you can expect to see employee record results listed below (assuming data entered is correct).

If you are searching by the EEID, Claim Number, or Leave Number, you must use the full string of associated numbers. A partial entry will not yield accurate results. You can, however, search using partial first and last name

If there is an open claim or leave, the claim or leave number will show in the appropriate column. If there is not a number in those columns for the employee, this means that the leaves and/or claims are closed.

• To search using multiple data points, such as First and Last Name, you will select the search criteria for the first data point (ex: First Name), input the information (ex: Jane), and click Filter. This can be repeated as many times as needed. Once you have all the filters applied that you’d like to search with, click Search.
• To clear all filters, click Clear. If you want to clear one filter, click the X next to that filter.

• The search results will load on the same page under the Search By field. You can click Next at the bottom of the page to move through search result pages.
• If there are more than 100 records, you may need to filter your search to find the employee you are looking for.
• By clicking Items per page, you can customize how many results you see per page.

To print an Employee Record, click on the hyperlinked Print text in the top right-hand corner of the dark blue box (to the left of the printer icon). This will pull up a pop-up message where you can select a few different print parameters. Ensure that you change the layout from Portrait to Landscape in the left-hand column. You can save the report as a PDF to view later, or you can print the record through a connected printer.

Updates to the details in existing records occur every 2 hours, and updates to the details within new records occurs every 20 minutes.

If you have access to the data field, but no data is available, you will see a long dash “—” in the cell. If you do not have access to the field, you will see “No Access” in that cell.
